Director of Engineering and Safety

MR. AHMED ISMAIL ABDI

Mr. Ahmed Ismail Abdi attended (name University/College) and obtained his Electrical/Electronic Engineer( P- ENGR) in (year).

He was the Technical Director & Chief Engineer at the Somali Airlines Company from 1972-1990.

From 1992 to 2012, Mr. Abdi worked as an Engineer with the EMIRATES Airlines in different positions:  planning engineer projects, planning engineer (A/C maintenance planning), engineer in special projects and A/C Maintenance Planning Engineer (Modifications Planning and Control Department).

After the completion of the long engineering service with Emirates in 2012 on the basis of Normal (Retirement), Mr. Abdi currently runs a private aviation consultancy, Alin Aviation, based in Dubai, UAE as well as in Toronto, Canada, the company received Consultancy projects from number of Aviation organizations including Emirates Airlines ( Asset Management), Star Air—A/C Technical Evaluation, Daallo Airline and others.

Mr. Abdi is a Professional Electrical/Electronic Engineer( P- ENGR), Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), Member of Royal Aeronautical Engineering Society(MRAeS) UK, Qualified for Airport operations and safety ( Airside and Landside) and current with all the new rules and regulations set by the International Aviation organizations such as : ICAO, EASA, FAA and IATA.

Mr. Abdi speaks Somali, English and Arabic.

Director of Administration

MS. MARIAN AHMED ALI

Ms Marian Ahmed Ali completed her secondary school education in Sheikh Hassan Barsane and Rage Ugaas Schools in Mogadishu, she attended the Somali National University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in law in 1980.

She was the Director of Human Resources & Properties Maintenance at the Somali Airlines Company from 1973-1990.

Ms. Marian received her master’s degree from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada in 2004 and currently is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Toronto, Canada.

From 1994 to present, Marian worked with a non-profit legal and human rights organization (LEAF) and Multicultural Community Interpreting Services (MCIS) under the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration Toronto, Canada.

In 2012, Marian has been honored and achieved “The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal” for Canadian community volunteer work.

Ms Ali has an extensive experience in negotiations by structuring, drafting, interpreting,  advising on a wide range of legal agreements; broad knowledge in aviation and human resources management; policy development and implementation. Marian speaks Somali, English, Italian and French.

Director of Commercial and Business Development

MR. ABDINUR MOHAMED ADEN

Mr. Abdinur Mohamed Aden completed his higher education in Mogadishu.

Mr. Aden worked for Somali Airlines from 1968 – 1990 and he was the Somali Airlines representative in Cairo – Egypt and Berbera – Somalia.  Also, he was the airline’s liaison with local airport agencies and authorities.

In 1991, Mr. Aden immigrated to Canada and created a successful private travel agency that has been operating in Toronto, Canada for Over 10 years.

Mr. Aden has an extensive experience for setting-up and managing  the various aspects and function of a commercial airline, in particular sales, distribution, market strategies, profitability analysis, agency set up, GSA selection, pricing strategy, revenue management, planning, forecasting, marketing and all related activities.
